Pop Merch is a Chinese platform that has recently gained popularity due to its collaborations with major entertainment agencies.

💙 Orders are placed via Weidian, with options for Korean or Chinese addresses depending on your needs.

💙 After being selected in a lottery, you check the announcement on the official WeChat account. The list order corresponds to the fansign order. Only the announcement date is revealed, not the exact time, which can be a bit anxious. Usually, the announcements come in the evening~

💙 After the winners are announced, you also receive a selection email with the staff’s WeChat QR code. Once added, you need to send your selection order, name, nationality, the text for the To Sign, and whether you need translation, for first identity verification.

💙 Staff will continue to use WeChat for official identity checks and order reminders. On the event day, they send a Tencent Meeting link for identity verification. You check the ID submitted during registration, and 15 minutes before your turn, the official Tencent Meeting link is sent to join the session.

💙 In the official meeting room, change your display name to “Member Name + Event Number” while waiting. The artist will turn on their camera once ready.

💙 After the fansign, Pop Merch will send the To sign image to your WeChat account. That officially concludes the event.

💙 Tencent Meeting has a built-in beauty filter. It’s recommended to test it beforehand so you can appear at your best. The video quality is clear and the call quality is acceptable.

Cons:

❌ Tencent Meeting lacks the natural feeling of a real conversation; it feels too much like a formal meeting. Waiting in the meeting room can be very stressful, and the experience is less relaxed than using WeChat or similar platforms.

❌ The platform management is chaotic. Even if you request translation, it may not be provided unless you insist. Translation is slow, wasting a lot of time.

❌ Staff strictly control time. When time is up, they stamp the paper and kick you out immediately—there’s no extra second. If you are finishing your message, you have to rush like a rapper, otherwise the session ends abruptly.

❌ Based on various user reports, the platform has internal quota allocations. Each group is different, but there is a risk of losing your spot, making the ordering process stressful.

💌 Overall, this platform is quite anxiety-inducing from ordering to selection and official call. The whole process feels like a chaotic foreign-language interview.
