KMS Full Review (Part 1) – Complete Video Call Process

KMStation (KMS) is probably a platform most fans in China are familiar with, and I’d like to share some small updates I’ve noticed after their recent changes!
🩷 If you want to apply for KMS fansign events, make sure to follow their official Weibo account — all application announcements and timelines are posted there.
🩷 You can place KMS orders through their own app or their Weidian store. Recently, they launched a new app called “KMStation Mall.” If you haven’t downloaded the old “KMStation” app before, you can now only use the new app or Weidian to place your orders.
🩷 It’s best to complete all your orders on one single platform. If you start on the app, finish everything on the app; if you start on Weidian, finish everything on Weidian. Try not to split orders between the two platforms, since KMS might not merge them, and if an order gets missed, it could cause serious trouble.
🩷 The winners list is now announced inside the new app, not on Weibo like before, so it’ll take some getting used to! The posting times are also quite random, so it’s best to check the app frequently.
🩷 After you win a fansign slot, the staff will add the WeChat ID you entered during your application and send you a notification. On the day of the video call, they’ll verify your identity in advance, checking your face and physical ID, then give you a reminder about five minutes before your turn and finally call you.
🩷 Each video call usually lasts around two minutes, but if you meet a nice staff member or an idol who’s willing to let you finish speaking, it can go a bit longer — very considerate!
🩷 Since the call is through WeChat, I recommend setting a ringtone you like. The idol can hear it when they call, and you can even ask them to make a cute pose — it adds a fun touch to the interaction.
🩷 After the video call, the staff will send you the photo of your signed album right away, so you don’t have to wait for shipping to see what it looks like.
🩷 KMS staff are quite approachable and human-like! If you have any sudden issues or special requests, you can talk to them directly — communication is welcome!
Cons:
🩶 Shipping can take six months to a year, or even longer… by the time you receive your signed album, it might feel like it’s from another lifetime.
🩶 The official customer service, whether on Weidian or the app, can’t really solve major problems. If you need to change your address or have other issues, you’ll have to email KMS customer support (Email: kms_shouhou@163.com).
📌 The lighting of the video call is great, the staff are responsible, but the slow shipping and frustrating customer service can be exhausting!
